Movie Reviews

Hello everyones everyones. Well I feel like giving some movie reviews because I’ve seen some good shows as of late. I forgot to put a picture from one of the movies, but oh well.

Inside Man – Denzel Washington is Denzel. If he is in the movie then you need to see it. That is it. Clive Owen is good in this movie too. I figured out how he was going to get away, but the movie was still great. It has good dialog. The movie started with a Hindu love song that is now on my myspace page. I love that song and when the movie kicked off with it; I leaned over to Shannon and said this is going to be good. I like those kinds of movies.

V for Vendetta – Now, I wasn’t going to see this, but I had heard from a few that the movie was good so I thought I would give it a shot. In fact, it was very good. It has some excellent dialog as well. The fight scenes, while few, are fun to watch. After all, behind that mask lies Smith from the Matrix. The movie does satirize government and news, but it is a good movie. I do recommend that you see it. A good song from this movie would be what I’m listening to right now...”I found a reason” by Cat Power. Favorite lines from the movie

Evey – “Who are you?”

V – “I am but a form, so the question is not who am I, but what am I? I am an idea.”

Evey – “Are you mocking me?”

V – “Not at all, I’m merely making light of the paradox of asking a masked man, who…he ….is.”

Lucky Number Slevin – This movie started out kind of dull, but because the actors are great, it got you through to the end and it turned out to be a pretty decent flick. I don’t recommend it as high as the two above, but I do recommend it. Once again, it’s the dialog in this movie that keeps you interested. It’s one of those movies that you have to just remember what you saw and trust that the director is going to put it together for you at the end and he does. So you can check this out if you want.

Greatest Game Ever Played – This just recently came out at the movie store and is worth watching if you haven’t. It’s a good wholesome movie that will leave you feeling good. I miss these type movies because they don’t make em like they used to.

Finally, I watched a reminiscing flick the other day. The Program is probably one of the best football movies ever made. I hadn’t seen it in a long time and I watched it through to enjoyment. So if somehow, someway, this movie slipped past you, then go rent it or buy it. I came out in 1993 so it’s prolly like 3 dollars. It’s a keeper.

So there are some movie reviews for ya. I love movies because they can be like a painting of life. Nothing is better than getting lost in a good movie. I hope you enjoy some of these movies that I have seen. As Levar Burton says “You don’t have to take my word for it” he he he he he

All My Bags are Packed, I'm Ready to Go....

I’m sorry for not writing in such a long time, but as you know I left off with a situation asking for prayers. So without further ado our decision has been made. We are moving. We choose to be within arms length of family and friends and to do this will require us to leap on faith a bit. We feel that this is the time for us to make this move for if we wait the risk will be unbearable. We thank all of you for your prayers and we ask that you continue to pray as we embark on this undefined road. Freud defined this situation as the pleasure versus reality principles. The pleasure principle states that you will go through anything if what you want…what will make you happy is on the other side. The reality principle is when you examine the consequences and ask yourself if you can afford them. Well, with God on our side I think we can. So here we come folks; it’s going to be great. You’ll see….
